"Car Maintenance Tips - 5 Ways To Save Your Car"Just imagine that the car you purchased needs no maintenance at all until you decide to purchase a newer model. Wow! If that were the case, than would be so much easier; wouldn’t it? But, the truth is that everything requires maintenance from time to time, including a car. If you care for your car properly, then your car will give better performance and it will have a longer life expectancy. In order to keep your car running smooth for a long time, here are som car maintenance tips for you to follow:

  1.   You oil should be changed regularly:

This is one of the easiest and simplest things that you can do to keep your car in a working order. If you don’t change your oil regularly, then the likelihood is very good that your car will breakdown, as there will not be enough oil in your engine to lubricate it, causing damage to the engine. In order to keep your car running smoothly and for a long time, you are going to want to check your oil regularly. There are two ways that you can check your oil:

•  Check the dipstick in your car and add oil if the stick indicates that the oil level is low.

  •  Change your oil when your car manufacturer recommends that you should.

2. Take care of your tires:

You should take good care of your tires. Tires are the most important part of your car, aside from your engine. If you keep them in good shape, than your car will be in better working order. It will not only run better, but it will be safer to operate.

In order to check your tires, you should check the air pressure regularly. If the pressure is low, fill the tires with air. Most of the petrol pumps provide free air for tires, so visit a petrol station in order to fill your tires. You should also have your tires rotated, as this will help the tires to wear uniformly. Uneven wear can indicate that there is a wheel alignment problem.

3. Keep a maintenance schedule:

The car must go through regularly scheduled maintenance. There are many things that must be taken care of in your car, such as a timing belt, and a regular maintenance check up can help to ensure that these things are in proper working order.

4. Change the car filters:

A car has many filters, including an oil, air, transmission and fuel filter. In your owners manual, you can find the suggested schedule for changing the car filters. Some makes and models of cars needs to have their air filters changed at every tune-up, or every couple of months. Some cars need to have their oil filters changed with every oil changed. The transmission fluid and filter should typically be changed every two years, and you should change your fuel filter at least once a year.

5. Clean your engine:

When dust and dirt collects on your engine, it can cause major problems for your car, such as overheating. Sometimes dirt collected on the engine can also leakages and other problems that can’t be spotted by the naked eye, not even by a mechanic. You should take care to clean the engine regularly so as to ensure that dirt and dust do not collect on it, as this will help you avoid potential problems.

All these tips will help you keep your car running in tip-top shape, as well as prolong the life of your vehicle.
