Places To Stay In The Algarve – The Hotel Faro

"hotel faro algarve info"Most people who travel to the Algarve fly by plane to the Faro international airport, but there are very few people who actually go on to stay in Faro while in the region.  So if you are looking to start your break in the Algarve with something a little different then why not book a couple of nights at the Hotel Faro located in the heart of the city and close to all amenities.

Faro is the captial of the Algarve and is home not only to important administrative services and the airport but also to a large shopping centre, a vibrant city centre area, a historic centre, beautiful marina and some stunning local beaches.

In the summer Faro is taken over by bikers from across the world who come to the motorcycle festival and many of the people camp on the outskirts of the city but there are many lovely places to stay in the city itself including the Hotel Faro.

This four star hotel is really easy to find as it sits opposite the marina in the city which is well sign posted.

Only a very short drive from the airport this is perhaps one of the quickest hotels to get to from the airport and ideal for anyone who needs to be close to the airport.

The hotel itself is of a good standard for a four star hotel and has been renovated to give it a modern feel while still maintaining a Portuguese feel.

The hotel is in the centre of the city so it is not exactly the calmest or quietest place to stay but this makes it ideal for anyone looking to experience a bit of Portuguese nightlife.

Faro is not only the capital of the Algarve it is also the student capital of the region and during the term time you will find the city buzzing with young people enjoying the bars, restaurants and vibrant live music scene.

Although the hotel is in the city it does have amazing views over towards the Ria Formosa natural park which gives it a unique feeling of being both an urban and a countryside hotel all in one!

There are 90 rooms in total in the hotel, including three suites.  All of the rooms are well equipped with everything you would expect from a good quality hotel and there is still a real feel of Portugal about them while maintaining a contemporary feel.

In Faro there are many dining options but if you would rather stay in house then there is the Ria Formosa bar on the fourth floor of the hotel and the restaurant offering a choice of international and Mediterranean cuisine but it has to be the views from here that are most memorable and it is worth taking a trip up even just for a drink to see these, especially around sunset time.

The next time you come to stay in the Algarve don’t just land at the airport and head off to your destination along the coast, why not instead discover all that Faro has to offer and make the Hotel Faro your base for a cheap and cheerful weekend away in the Algarve.
